Mini Stocking Free Pattern tutorial




Abbreviations
BLO = back loop only
Ch(s) = chain(s)
Dc = double crochet
Dc2tog = double crochet 2 together
Hdc = half double crochet
RS = right side
Rnd = rounds
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp = space
St(s) = stitches
YO = yarn over
WS = wrong side

* = repeat instructions following the asterisk.
( ) = work everything inside the parentheses in the next stitch.

Tools

Hook Size – 5mm

Blunt Needle

scissors

worsted weight yarn

Instructions

Starting at the Toe

Round 1 – 6 Sc in a Magic Circle – How to do a Magic circle (6)

Round 2 – Chain 1, 2 Sc in each stitch, slip stitch to complete the round (12)




Round 3 – Chain 1, *2 single crochets in the first stitch, 1 single crochet in the next 2 (*Repeat)  Slip stitch to complete the round

Round 4 – Chain 1, *2 single crochets in the first stitch, 1 single crochet in the next 4 (*Repeat)  Slip stitch to complete the round

Round 5 – Chain 1, Single crochet in each stitch, slip stitch to complete round, chain 1

Round  6- 8 – Repeat Round 4




Piece will start to curl up to create tip of toe

 

Heel

Switch colours, do not fasten off previous colour.

slip loop of new yarn into stitch you ended up, chain 1

Row 1 – Single crochet in next stitch, HDC in next stitch, DC in next 4 stitches, HDC in next stitch, Single crochet in next stitch, slip stitch into next stitch and turn your work

Row 2 – Chain 1, Single crochet into top first row SC, HDC in next stitch, DC2TOG, DC2TOG, HDC in next stitch, Single crochet in next stitch, slip stitch into next. Fasten off

Ankle Portion

Continue on with the previous colour, crochet along the same colour as well as the heel stitches

Round 1 – 6 Single crochet in each stitch, slip stitch to complete round, chain 1 before starting the next

Fasten off

Cuff

Attach Cuff colour (i used the same colour as the heel)

Round 1 – HDC in each stitch around, slip stitch to complete the round, chain 2

Round 2 – Repeat first round

Attach a piece of yarn at the top of your stocking if your creating an ornament
