Easy Folded Fabric Ornament
Things you will need for this project
Two different Cotton print fabric
Ribbon or yarn for the loop
gem, button for the centre
Print out a circle 7-8″ in diameter for a template or use a bowl or pot lid as a template
Cut out 1 circle from each fabric
place the circles right sides together
Sew around the circle with a 1/4″ seam allowance, leave a 2 to 3″ opening for turning
Flip the piece right sides out, do a top stitch around the edge about 1/8″ away from the edge as you go over the open hole fold it inwards to seal it up
Grab a needle and thread, ribbon of some sort and a centre piece if you wish
Fold the piece in half finding the centre point, use your needle and thread and insert into the fabric near the edge, go to the other side of the centre point and again insert your needle into the edge of the fabric, pull the fabric tight so it looks like this
find the insert secting corner points and again sew those corners together until it looks like this
going to each point fold the fabric over to the back so it looks like this, do this a total of 4 times and fiddle with the fabric until it all looks even and forms a perfect square
thread a string or ribbon through one corner hiding the knot under the folded fabric in the back.
finished with decorating the centre if you wish
