Sewing Peg Board storage setup

How do you hang a Peg board? When hanging a peg board it is important you create about a 1/2″ behind the peg board, you can purchase a peg board mounting kit but all you need is a washer such as this and a screw that will fit inside of it, make sure the head of the screw is larger then one of the peg board holes and choose a hole at the top, the great thing about a peg board is you can line it up with your studs to make sure you have it nice and secure so find your studs and then choose a hole that is over the stud to screw into

If you screw it into a stud you can literally hang off of this thing haha

These are many different types of hooks you can get for your peg board, i purchased a few variety packs and then some longer ones at my local hardware store

I found these adorable buckets in my gardening section of Dollarama, these are great for small items adds addition storage and you can take it down to use and then stick it back up when your done

to organize my zippers i chose to stack them and use a binder clip to hang them, i love this idea instead of jamming them all into a drawer now i can see how many of each colour i have left!

I got this thread holder at Joann’s and i used a two prong hook and hooked it on, alot better then buying a ton of hooks for each spool

And now all my scissors and hand tools are beautifully displayed

I hooked the buckets on the bottom so i dont take up any extra room and are in arms  reach

I used this long basket and hooked it onto two hooks and this fits my washi tapes perfectly!

Heart Wristlet

Super Cute heart wristlet!
Things you will need
main fabric – Arrow fabric
lining fabric – chevron
zipper that spands the width of your heart – zipper
a metal loop, key finding, jewelry finding to attach the wrist strap – D ring
fusible fleece –
Slice two of the piece of fabric in half as shown , this is where zipper will be placed

cut and iron fusible fleece to fit the heart 1/4″ smaller (this will help reduce the bulk in the edges of the heart

Using a hot iron press both sides, if you dont have fusible fleece a stabilizer material  will work as well

place the top of the heart (main fabric) on your table right side facing up, place the zipper zipper side down onto the piece of fabric lining up the edges of the zipper with the bottom part of the heart piece, place the lining fabric ontop of the zipper right sides facing down. sew along the that edge as close to the zipper as you can get, if you have a zipper foot that would be the best option.

if you have difficulties placing the fabric please refer to my video tutorial linked below

once you finished sewing the zipper on fold the two pieces of fabric back to expose the zipper and sew along the edge near the zipper about a 1/4″ away for a nice top stitch

now we will attach the bottom of the heart, laying down the main fabric and then the zipper portion (zipper down) and then lining right sides down, making sure the edges of the fabric all line up and the bottom of the hear lines up with the top of the heart on the sides. sew next to the zipper, sometimes its hard to get past the zip so if you sew a small portion of it and then take the piece of out of your machine to move the zip then you can get past it better.

flip open the fabric to expose the zipper and again top stitch 1/4″ away from the zipper
Note the zipperfoot is very handy and can butt up to the zipper
Now its time to attach the back of the heart!
keeping the sewn portion facing up, lay the main fabric heart down onto the sewn portion right sides down, then lay the lining fabric on top with the right side facing up.
slip in the loop on the right hand corner of the heart and pin in place.
Sew all around the perimeter of the heart, once you have passed over the zipper (slowly) open it up half way and then continue on sewing the entire thing
once finished flip it right sides out
it takes a minute or two and a little bit of finessing but it should look like this!
now for some top stitching

very slow and steady when you go over your zipper! if its metal zip over the teeth!
and then your done! just in time for your valentines day dinner 😀 how adorable and it will fit a samsung s7 some money and a few small makeup items so thats a plus!

Half Moon Zipper Toiletry, make up or essential oil pouch

For this tutorial you will need Cotton Fabric, a Outer fabric and lining fabric

12″ or more length zipper

Fusible Fleece or Light to medium weight fusible interfacing

you will need 6″ bias tape, if you don’t have bias tape you can take the fabric the lining is made out of and create  your own bias tape

find the centre of your zipper and fold the fabric in half length ways to find the centre of the half circle, line up the middle of each and start to pin your zipper along  the edge, using a zipper foot will make this process easier Sew along the side of the zipper, next you will put the lining ontop and again sew along the same edge to attach the lining (make sure the lining and the main fabric is right sides together with the zipper sandwich in between

** You can of course sandwich the zipper between the main fabric and the lining all at once but it can be a little tricky sewing a zipper onto a curved edge so nothing wrong with doing it one step at a time if you are a beginner

This is how it will look once you have sew on the lining, now we will upzip the zipper and do the same thing on the other side, making sure the zipper isnt twisted and lining up with the edge of the main fabric and lining

no shame in using 1000 pins or clips haha

This is how it will look once you have done both sides, it will look puckered at the side where the zipper is attached but thats ok

Now you will flip it right sides out from one of the cut notches

Now you will do a top stitch next to the zipper to finish it off the zipper

*Use a long stitch length to make it a little more fancy and try to go as straight as you possible can

turn the bag inside out and pinch the notches lining up the zipper with the centre of the notch, clip into place and sew along that edge

add bias tape to finish it off

Turn right sides out and then your done!
