Heart Wristlet

Super Cute heart wristlet!
Things you will need
main fabric – Arrow fabric
lining fabric – chevron
zipper that spands the width of your heart – zipper
a metal loop, key finding, jewelry finding to attach the wrist strap – D ring
fusible fleece – http://go.magik.ly/ml/3od5/
Slice two of the piece of fabric in half as shown , this is where zipper will be placed

cut and iron fusible fleece to fit the heart 1/4″ smaller (this will help reduce the bulk in the edges of the heart

Using a hot iron press both sides, if you dont have fusible fleece a stabilizer material  will work as well

place the top of the heart (main fabric) on your table right side facing up, place the zipper zipper side down onto the piece of fabric lining up the edges of the zipper with the bottom part of the heart piece, place the lining fabric ontop of the zipper right sides facing down. sew along the that edge as close to the zipper as you can get, if you have a zipper foot that would be the best option.

if you have difficulties placing the fabric please refer to my video tutorial linked below

once you finished sewing the zipper on fold the two pieces of fabric back to expose the zipper and sew along the edge near the zipper about a 1/4″ away for a nice top stitch

now we will attach the bottom of the heart, laying down the main fabric and then the zipper portion (zipper down) and then lining right sides down, making sure the edges of the fabric all line up and the bottom of the hear lines up with the top of the heart on the sides. sew next to the zipper, sometimes its hard to get past the zip so if you sew a small portion of it and then take the piece of out of your machine to move the zip then you can get past it better.

flip open the fabric to expose the zipper and again top stitch 1/4″ away from the zipper
Note the zipperfoot is very handy and can butt up to the zipper
Now its time to attach the back of the heart!
keeping the sewn portion facing up, lay the main fabric heart down onto the sewn portion right sides down, then lay the lining fabric on top with the right side facing up.
slip in the loop on the right hand corner of the heart and pin in place.
Sew all around the perimeter of the heart, once you have passed over the zipper (slowly) open it up half way and then continue on sewing the entire thing
once finished flip it right sides out
it takes a minute or two and a little bit of finessing but it should look like this!
now for some top stitching

very slow and steady when you go over your zipper! if its metal zip over the teeth!
and then your done! just in time for your valentines day dinner 😀 how adorable and it will fit a samsung s7 some money and a few small makeup items so thats a plus!

Easy Home decor Pumpkins!

This super easy tutorial only requires a rectangle piece of fabric (of any kind), some (yarn, embroidery floss, twine, string), glue, and needle and thread

I used FabriTac and some upholstery thread for my project, the upholstery thread is  very strong and since i will be tugging on it alot i dont want my thread to break

Cut a rectangle 20″ x 10″, Fold it in half and sew down the side opposite of the fold, this can done either by sewing machine or by hand like so

turn it right side out

take so me more thread and quickly sew around the raw edges, this doesnt need to be neat as we are just going to gather the fabric by pulling onto the thread. you wont see your stitches in the end so dont even worry about it not looking beautiful at this point.

This is how it will look once its gathered.

Grab some pillow stuffing  and stuff the pumpkin, you may have to add more stuffing after you start to sew the pumpkin shut

Again sew around the edge and then gather all the fabric into the centre. Now i am switching to my darning needle and embroidery floss

I will be putting my needle throw the centre of the pumpkin to create the lines on the sides

put the needle through the centre and around the pumpkin 8 times so it looks like the pumpkin has 8 different sections, pull it a little tight so it indents the side of the pumpkin giving it a more pumpkin form

I’m going to be using a scrap of burlap for my stem and im using fabritac and then i will roll up the burlap

using my glue i will glue on the stem of my pumpkin, if you dont feel comfortable using glue you can of course sew it on for extra security

Easy Bow keychain tutorial

cut a piece of fabric 9″ x 6″ for the main body of the bow and a piece 5″ x 2 1/2″

Iron the bow centre in a bias tape style (Watch video tutorial to see how i do it)

Sew down both sides to close it and to also top stitch the other side to match

Take your large piece right sides together and fold it in half length ways, sew all 3 sides leaving a 3″ gap on the one side

Flip the entire piece right side out and close up the hole with a quick top stitch

Fold the bow in an according style and place the bow centre around the middle of the bow slip on a keychain at this point and then secure it all together with a needle and thread

the video tutorial has clear instruction how to do this (sorry it was late and i forgot to take some more photos haha)
