Half Moon Zipper Toiletry, make up or essential oil pouch

For this tutorial you will need Cotton Fabric, a Outer fabric and lining fabric

12″ or more length zipper

Fusible Fleece or Light to medium weight fusible interfacing

you will need 6″ bias tape, if you don’t have bias tape you can take the fabric the lining is made out of and create  your own bias tape

Paid patterns are to help support my youtube channel and to help buy materials to bring you more and quality content, so Thank you! 😀

find the centre of your zipper and fold the fabric in half length ways to find the centre of the half circle, line up the middle of each and start to pin your zipper along  the edge, using a zipper foot will make this process easier Sew along the side of the zipper, next you will put the lining ontop and again sew along the same edge to attach the lining (make sure the lining and the main fabric is right sides together with the zipper sandwich in between

** You can of course sandwich the zipper between the main fabric and the lining all at once but it can be a little tricky sewing a zipper onto a curved edge so nothing wrong with doing it one step at a time if you are a beginner

This is how it will look once you have sew on the lining, now we will upzip the zipper and do the same thing on the other side, making sure the zipper isnt twisted and lining up with the edge of the main fabric and lining

no shame in using 1000 pins or clips haha

This is how it will look once you have done both sides, it will look puckered at the side where the zipper is attached but thats ok

Now you will flip it right sides out from one of the cut notches

Now you will do a top stitch next to the zipper to finish it off the zipper

Free Shipping on Orders $49+

*Use a long stitch length to make it a little more fancy and try to go as straight as you possible can

turn the bag inside out and pinch the notches lining up the zipper with the centre of the notch, clip into place and sew along that edge

add bias tape to finish it off

Turn right sides out and then your done!

Easy! Wrapping paper gift bag

A very simple solution to wrap those hard to wrap gifts, and save a tree and not buy boxes of every single odd shaped item!

ensure the wrapping paper overlaps over the item, there is 5″ extra on the bottom where the base of the bag will be and 4″ extra above the item where the bag will fold over to close

remove the item, crease the paper and tape down the seam, fold over one edge of the paper about a half an inch to give a nice clean finish

place a few pieces of tape to secure

Fold up the paper, 4 – 5 inches, or depending on the side of the gift fold accordingly

I’m placing two t-shirts inside this bag so i folded up 5″

lay the fold down to create two triangles on either side

fold the tips of the triangles over lapping a 1/4″ and secure with lots of tape

This is how the inside of the bag will appear, to add more structure to the bag you can place a cardboard square that fits over the seams but it isn’t necessary for light items which is really what i would recommend this for as wrapping paper isnt very strong.

Standing up the bag with the gift inside folder over the top by 2″, from here you can tape it down or choose to place two holes and a ribbon through the holes to add a little sparkle

Sewing tutorial – Cross Body Water bottle holder

Hey guys! its almost summer where i am from and we will be frequenting the local zoo’s, theme parks and going on hikes! Its always my goal to make sure my kids get an obseen amount of water haha if you have kids you know kids just LOVE holding things… haha 😐 so without having them hold it whats the next best thing!? Strap it too them!

So i decided to make my own cross body holders for my kids cups, the cups i have for my kids are the Thermos brand which can be found walmart, toys r us and the contigo brand which can be found walmart or costco

This tutorial will have measurements for these particular cups but i will show you how to measure your cup to make a cross body water bottle holder for any size bottle

Download the PDF to view the pattern measurements and if you would like to print it out you can do that but it is fairly easy to replicate

Materials – Canvas Fabric

Optional D- Rings

Download FREE pdf here

you will need a Main fabric, a lining fabric (if using canvas do not stabalize, if using cotton stabalize)

cut 2 rectangles, cut 2 circles, for strapping cut 2 – 2 1/2″ strip of fabric, measure from the front of your waist over your shoulder to the back of your waist, add 6″ more for the D rings if you choose to add those)

Note* If you are doing a two tone bag split the measurement in half and add 1/2″ to each piece

Fold the fabrics length wise, sew down the raw edge to create a tube, attach the circle to the one end of the tube with a ton of pins, take your time and carefully line up the edges of the tube with the edges of your circle

When sewing the Main fabric of the bag use a 1/4″ seem allowance, when sewing the lining of the bag use a 1/2″ seam allowance this will allow your lining to fit nicely inside the outer piece.

This is how they should look, turn the outside piece right sides out and leave the lining inside out.

place the lining inside the outer bag, fold in the edges of the lining and the outer bag, if your adding D rings place 3″ piece of strap through the ring and sandwich it in between the two layers of fabric, if your not using a D ring then evenly space your straps inbetween the two layers of fabric
