Glasses Sleeve



simple Sunglass pouch 

This tutorial is for a simple sunglass pouch with a zipper pouch in the front for cleaning wipes or your little cleaning cloth

This tutorial can be made without the zipper pouch but i will be including the measurements for the zipper version.

Materials

Cotton Fabric

Fusible Fleece (to add padding to project your glasses

1 Nylon zipper approx 5″




Measurements for the zipper version

Outer fabric – cut 2 –  4″ x 8″

Lining fabric – Cut 3 – 4″ x 8″

Measurements for the Simple version

Outer fabric – Cut 2 – 4″ x 8″

Lining Fabric – Cut 2 – 4″ x 8″

Step 1 – Take 1 of the outer fabric pieces and cut in half about 3″ from the bottom.

Take one of the lining pieces and cut in half .  they should not measurement the same, refer the the photo.




Step 2 Install zipper

Fold down the second piece of fabric so it is against the 1st lining fabric, this will create the lined pouch.

Iron on fusible interfacing onto the back of your lining pieces.

Place the lining pieces right sides together, place the outer fabric pieces right sides together.

Sew down 3 sides leaving one of the short sides open, leave a 4″ gap on one of the long sides in the lining for turning.

take your outer fabric, flip it right sides out. insert into the lining so the right sides are together, line up the side seams and make sure the fabric is even all the way around.

Sew all the way around the opening.

Flip right sides out, sew up the opening in the lining. press, top stitch the edge.
